Thursday morning, the San Francisco Police Department made an arrest in the stabbing death of Cash App co-founder Bob Lee. According to the San Francisco County Jail’s records, the detained suspect is Nima Momeni, a fellow tech executive who allegedly knew Lee.
The San Francisco Police Department has identified Momeni, 38, of Emeryville as the murder suspect. Thursday morning, Momeni was booked on a single count of homicide, according to jail records. According to the inmate record, Momeni is currently being held without parole.
Who Is Nima Momeni?
According to his LinkedIn page, Mr. Momeni is the owner of Expand IT and resides in Emeryville in the Bay Area. The corporate software company may rely on Expand IT as their “one-stop technology and security provider.”
According to his resume, Mr. Momeni has worked as a “dedicated technology partner” for several technology firms in the Bay Area and San Jose since 2005, assisting clients in the healthcare industry, the financial sector, and the startup community.
His profile states that he is bilingual (English and Farsi) and a graduate of Berkeley University. Mr. Momeni paid $525,000 in 2020 to purchase an apartment at 4053 Harlan St., Emeryville, according to public records searches.

Technology executive Robert Lee was fatally murdered on April 4, 2023. Mission Local reports that his body was found in a forsaken part of San Francisco.

What Did Nima Momeni’s Neighbors Say About Him?
The arrest of Nima Momeni stunned his neighbors, who described him as “lovely.”
One of the neighbors remarked, “I awoke to the boisterous sounds of police officers speaking on their speaker phone and yelling for someone to raise their hands.”
“He invited my wife and me to his home multiple times. We never went because we didn’t know him well,” he continued.
Another neighbor, Sam Singer, who had recently moved in, revealed that he once had a remarkable encounter with the suspect.
