In an interview several years back, Sanderson revealed that adding exercise to her life was a major game changer in getting into shape. "I had to change the amount I ate but mainly I started moving!" she said. "I didn't starve myself. I started going to the gym doing running, light weights and swimming as well as dancing, which I love."
Per Sanderson, eating less – not totally revamping your diet – is the key to staying in shape. "As far as my change in diet went, it was really simple. I just cut down on bad stuff – I didn't cut anything out," she said. "I eat all the same foods, just less of them." She later added, "I think as long as you eat within reason and exercise you'll be healthier. Just don't go out and buy supersize takeaways – try getting something a bit smaller."
Nikki eats a lot of carbs. "Now I have white toast and butter, hot cross buns or cereal for breakfast. For lunch I'll have maybe a prawn buttie or pasta with tuna or a baked potato. And for dinner, although I'm not a big fan of salad, Danny makes the best Caesar salad you've tasted in your life. He also made spaghetti bolognese for me," she said. "My favorite food, apart from biscuits, is my mum's Sunday roast – it's the best ever."
Nikki is an avid adventurer. She goes on lots of hikes, sharing images of her expeditions on her Instagram account.
