Katherine Bergeron is an American academic administrator who currently serves as the President of Connecticut College. She was born on 10 February, 1958 in New London, Connecticut, United States. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College in 1980 and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago in 1984. Bergeron began her career as an assistant professor of French at the University of Chicago in 1984. She then moved to the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, where she served as an associate professor of French and Comparative Literature. In 1995, she was appointed as the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2002, Bergeron was appointed as the President of Connecticut College, becoming the first woman to serve in the role. During her tenure, she has overseen the construction of a new science center, the renovation of the college's library, and the establishment of a new center for the study of global citizenship. Bergeron has received numerous awards and honors for her work, including the Connecticut College Medal of Excellence, the Connecticut College Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Connecticut College Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Award. On August 20, 2013, the Connecticut College Board of Trustees elected Katherine Bergeron as the 11th president of Connecticut College. Bergeron took office on January 1, 2014.

Bergeron has held professorships at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Tufts University, University of California at Berkeley, and at Brown University, where she also served as dean of the college from 2006 to 2013.

As a musician and a historian, Bergeron's scholarship has focused on French music and culture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She is a two-time recipient of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publisher' Deems-Taylor Award for her books Decadent Enchantments (University of California Press, 1998) and Voice Lessons (Oxford University Press, 2010). Voice Lessons also received the Otto Kinkeldey Award from the American Musicological Society.

Bergeron was born in New London, Connecticut in 1958. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in music from Wesleyan University and master and doctoral degrees in music from Cornell University.
