Hendry, the reigning IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion, is thriving as an in-ring competitor, but he is also renowned for his abilities as a musician. He performs his own theme song, and he has also released other songs over the years.

During an appearance on The Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz, Hendry was asked if fans could ever expect to see a full-length album from him. He noted that it would make sense for him, but he’s a perfectionist with music. Hendry noted that he has succeeded in wrestling because the sport makes the competitor go out and perform, whereas music fosters a more patient approach, where people can take as long as they want.

“I mean it makes a lot of sense. It makes a lot of sense,” Hendry said. “It’s kind of weird that I haven’t done it already. My problem is I’m a bit of a perfectionist with that thing, and I need to just kind of let go and realize that you shoot for excellence, not perfection. That’s why I think I’ve had success in wrestling and not in music.

“Because in music, you can just work on an album for 10 years and never release it, whereas in wrestling, you kind of just go out and have the match and then if it goes well, excellent. If it doesn’t, you learn from it and you move on. That really is the best way to do things. So there’s a little mental block that I need to get over in order to do that, to actually release an album. I think it would be great.

Hendry went on to name South Park and The Lonely Island as two of his musical influences, as they deliver songs that are both funny and musically strong. He also linked this approach to the popularity of his theme song.

“I take a lot of influence from the ‘South Park’ songs,” Hendry said. “It’s that sort of style of humor. Same thing with The Lonely Island and stuff like that. The thing I really like about both of them is the songs are really funny, but they’re also musically strong, and that’s kind of what I’ve tried to as well. It’s one thing to have a funny joke, but if the music is actually good in its own right, that’s when you’re off to the races. I think that’s why my entrance song has become popular.”

South Park has produced many songs over the years, including “Blame Canada” and “It’s Easy, M’Kay”. The Lonely Island has offered a number of hits as well, including “Jack Sparrow” and “I’m on a Boat”.
